Last week, Rohan Finch (9 JTE ) was successful in winning the local heats of this national cooking competition held at Northampton College, representing Welland Park Academy.
The challenge was to prepare, cook and serve a two course meal for two people on a budget of £7. Rohan’s main dish was seabass served on a bed of flageolet and butter beans, with a rocket sauce and cauliflower puree, roasted garlic and baby tomatoes, followed by lemon posset with lavender shortbread hearts, figs and strawberries.
Rohan impressed the judges with her skills and professional approach and beautifully presented food! She will go on to represent the county at the regional heats to be held at Loughborough College later in January, and will be given a chef mentor to work alongside in preparation for this stage. The winner of those heats will go on to represent the East Midlands at Westminster Kingsway College for the finals.
Well done Rohan!
