Rohan Finch, year 9 (JTE) was the schools representative for Northamptonshire at the recent Futurechef Regional, held at Loughborough College. 

Contestants had to prepare, cook and serve a two course meal for two people on a budget of £10. 

Rohan created a delicious main dish of pan fried sea bass served on a plate of flageolet and butter beans with rocket sauce and cauliflower puree, roasted garlic and baby tomatoes. 

This was followed by dessert, a Lemon Posset with lavender shortbread hearts, figs and strawberries. 

Rohan was judged on her preparation, cooking skills and finished dishes. The competition was very strong and Rohan did fantastically well and was awarded a commendable 3rd place.

The judges complimented Rohan on her ability and flair -  one of the judges has taken her main course dish and will be using this on his menu in his own restaurant!

Rohan was praised for her professionalism and organisation and the way she naturally has chef skills.

Rohan has been invited back to compete next year.   Our thanks go to chef Steve Deakin who helped with the mentoring.
