Welland Park Academy Work Experience 2018

We have established a successful Work Experience opportunity for our Year 10 students during the summer holiday. This enables our students to experience working with professionals and develop the application of their skills for the work place, without losing valuable curriculum time during the term. Our first programme was very well received by both students and providers in August 2017.

In order to facilitate Work Experience, we are working in partnership with the Leicester Education Business Partnership [ LEBC], a charity that has developed many links between business and education since 1992.

This year our Work Experience week will take place during the third week of the Summer holiday:

Monday 30th July 2018 to Friday 3rd August 2018

The cost of the placement which covers the appropriate risk assessment, administration and liaison with local providers in professions to include law, retail and engineering by the LEBC is:

            £57 for an LEBC placement

£50 for a self- placement via the LEBC

Cheques can be made payable to Welland Park Academy or through Parent Pay [ Y10 Work Experience 2018]

Your son/daughter has received an introductory letter and they will also receive an application form via their form tutor. LEBC will be available to discuss the process with parents at each of the Year 10 Parents’ Evenings through the academic year. (Dates in please)

We would encourage you to discuss the placement with your child and in order to make the process easier we have attached all the key guidance to this web page.

We strongly believe that work experience is of great benefit to students as it helps to develop confidence as well as giving them a real experience in the world of work
